Consultation and Training

Scheduling:

As a father and local pastor, my priorities are first to my family and then to The Summit Church. My role as a father guides many of my decisions and shapes the way I approach my responsibilities at home and within the church community. Any consultation or training engagements I take on will be carefully scheduled around these personal and church calendars to ensure that I am fully present for both. This means that booking might not be immediate if there is family or church calendaring to be done during the period of your desired dates; I appreciate your understanding as I strive to balance these important aspects of my life. My intention is to provide quality time and dedication to each engagement, ensuring that all parties involved feel valued and supported.

What kind of Consultation and Training I Do?

  • Pre-Launch G4 Consultation: These consultations are meant to serve churches that are interested in launching Group-Based Counseling ministries. The conversation can answer questions about launch procedures, logistics, or best practices. 
  • Post-Launch G4 Consultation: These consultations are designed to support churches that have already launched group-based counseling ministries and are seeking guidance on more specific aspects of their ministry. These calls are not intended for case debriefs, but rather to address questions related to the overall operation and structure of the ministry, including but not limited to:
    • How can we structure the evening of G4 for our context?
    • What have been your most fruitful leadership recruitment strategies?
    • How do we vet group curriculums?
  • G4 Facilitator Training: This training is the G4 leadership training that is used for group facilitators based on the book Facilitating Counseling Groups: A Leader’s Guide to Church-Based Counseling Ministry. This training is meant to equip church volunteers to lead in G4 groups at your church. Before scheduling a training, we will ensure this is the best next step for your church. 
  • G4 Church Leader Overview: This “training” is a space where the basics of G4 can be covered in more detail than a consultation. The purpose is to help your leadership team (pastors, elders, invested stakeholders) in determining if G4 is a ministry that your church desires to pursue. This time can be designed to meet the needs of your church after an initial consultation to determine your needs. 

What Does it Cost?

Consultation: Phone/Video Conference consultation is available at $50/hour. These calls are not intended for case debriefs, but rather to address questions related to the overall operation and structure of the ministry.

Trainings: For any training/speaking events, I do not have a set speaking fee. I simply ask that each church compensate me in a manner consistent with how they would typically honor someone for a comparable event. I recognize that churches and organizations vary in size and budget, and I want to respect and accommodate those differences. 

In addition to the honorarium you determine, I ask that travel expenses be covered. 

  • For events within driving distance, this includes mileage and meals. 
  • For events requiring extended travel (over 100 miles), I ask that the host organization cover the cost of airfare, hotel, meals, rental car or rideshare, and any necessary airport parking.
    • When a flight is required, I prefer to schedule my own flight and be reimbursed so that I can be flexible with family/other ministry requirements. 
    • For a hotel stay, I would love that your church recommends the hotel that I book and am reimbursed. You know your area better than I do. 
    • A webinar or virtual meeting can help alleviate travel expenses if that can serve your needs.

  • Church Name
  • Desired Date(s)
  • Potential number of attendees
  • A brief description of where you are in the process of launching your ministry. 

Once I receive your information, I will reach out to you to schedule a call to talk through the nature of the training and when you would like to have the training schedule.
