The Heart of Domestic Abuse

The Heart of Domestic Abuse: Gospel Solutions for Men Who Use Control and Violence in the Home.

Heart of AbuseDomestic abuse and violence are on the rise in our culture today, and just as prevalent in the church of Jesus Christ as it is in the population at large. With an estimated one-fourth of women in the church living with abuse and violence, pastors and biblical counselors need to have the resources to offer hope and help.

In The Heart of Domestic Abuse, Chris Moles uses his vast experience in battered intervention, and his training in biblical counseling to encourages godly men in the church to call abusive men to repentance and accountability through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Note from the Blogger:

Reading this work by Chris Moles, it is easy to see that he walks the line of pastor/counselor as well as any other. This book is meant to be read by those who are seeking to help the individual who is a batterer. The hope of Moles is to give a resource that will better prepare pastors, counselors, and everyone involved to better point people back to Christ.

With scripture, practical advice, case studies, and wise words of experience Moles helps to frame an ever important conversation. His desire is to attack the heart of the abuser, to seek not just behavioral change (while sometimes necessary) but a lasting heart change that will be impactful for a lifetime.

This book is not recommended for individuals who are in, or have been in an abusive relationship because it might trigger some unwanted memories. However, for those who are in the counseling profession or other helping relationships and hope to see the church do better in an area that has been historically broken, read this book!
